Back to blogging

It has been quite a while since I have blogged, but now that I am in the One Thing Internship at IHOP-KC, I know I will have a lot to write.  This is an introduction to a topic that I think will be spinning in my head for a while.

In Ephesians 1:17-19, Paul prays a prayer that God would give the church a revelation of three things.  “That you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe.”

I have been diving in to the first one, “the hope of His calling.”  The thought of Jesus having a calling on His life was new to me.  Not only the calling He fulfilled on the cross, but Jesus also has callings that have not yet been fulfilled.  What are they?  Things like setting up His kingdom over the whole earth (Dan. 7:14), destroying death (I Cor. 15:25-26), and bringing all things together in Him (Eph. 1:10).  What other things that I can hardly comprehend?  I’ve started thinking about these things one at a time and praying that God would release hope to my spirit through each one.
